Prophets and Kings is the second book in the Conflict of the Ages series. It begins with the reign of King Solomon to the restoration of Jerusalem.

Some of Prophets and Kings discussed in this volume are Jehoshaphat, Elijah, Elisha, Hezekiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, Zechariah and Malachi/5. This is book two in a series of five books, and it is a great devotional book.

If you are reading through the Old Testament, especially through the prophets and the kings of Israel, this book will clarify a lot of the questions that come up as you read.

The book before this is called Patriarchs and Prophets, which is also an excellent resource/5(). Prophets in the Book of Kings: A Journey Into the Text. Preliminary Remarks: In the story Prophets of the King. book in the book of Kings—part of the "former prophets" in the Jewish canon—we find, not surprisingly, a number of stories about prophets in the unfolding narrative.

Woven throughout the tale of Israel's history, stretching from the death of King. These, with the priests and Levites, met the king in the court of the temple.

{PK } To this vast assembly the king himself read "all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the Lord." 2 Kings The royal reader was deeply affected, and he delivered his message with the pathos of a broken heart.

The prophets of Israel and Judah are described in the books of Kings and the books of Chronicles. Many of these prophets are Major or Minor prophets and have a separate book in the Bible detailing their prophesies.

The prophets of Israel are Ahijah, Micaiah, Beeri, Hosea, Amos, Jonah, Elijah, Elisha, and Oded. The prophets of Judah are Oded the Exhorter, Azariah, Hanani, Jehu, Jahaziel, Eliezer, Obadiah, Amoz, Isaiah, Zechariah, Micah, Nahum, Maaseiah, Neriah, Jeremiah, Baruch, Zephaniah.

In all cases where the king had a right to command, Daniel would obey; but neither the king nor his decree could make him swerve from allegiance to the King of kings. {PK } Thus the prophet boldly yet quietly and humbly declared that no earthly power has a right to interpose between the soul and God.

Jonah: A prophet in northern Israel, Johan likely lived in 8th century BCE. The book of Jonah is different from the other prophetic books of the Bible. Typically, prophets issued warnings or gave instructions to the people of Israel.

Instead, God told Jonah to evangelize in the city of Nineveh, home of Israel's cruelest enemy. The Bible names many prophets, but some of the most significant prophets to remember are: Abraham, whom God himself calls a prophet (Genesis ) Moses, the greatest of the Old Testament prophets (Deuteronomy ) Samuel, who anointed two kings of Israel on God’s behalf (1 Samuel –20).

The Minor Prophets or Twelve Prophets (Aramaic: תרי עשר ‎, Trei Asar, "Twelve"), (Ancient Greek: δωδεκαπρόφητον, "the Twelve Prophets"), occasionally Book of the Twelve, is the last book of the Nevi'im, the second main division of the Jewish collection is broken up to form twelve individual books in the Christian Old Testament, one for each of the prophets.

Section 3—A Preacher of Righteousness. Section 4—National Retribution. Section 5—In the Lands of the Heathen. Mostly because of their size, the Latter Prophets are subdivided into the Major Prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel), and the twelve Minor Prophets, whose writings could all be included in one large scroll which came to be known in Greek as the Do„decaprophe„ton, “the Twelve-Prophet Book”).

50 Daniel, usually viewed as one of the Major Prophets in the English Bible, actually appears in the third. The book of Major Prophets in the Old Testament of the Bible includes the book of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel. It is called the book of the Major Prophets due to the length 5/5(8).

The Latter Prophets follow Psalms and the Wisdom books in the Greek Septuagint, as well as our Christian Old Testament of the Bible.

The Book of Hosea was written in the Northern Kingdom of Israel in the eighth century BC, during the reign of Jeroboam II ( BC). Some of these prophets only have their words recorded in Kings or Chronicles, while others have their words recorded elsewhere in the Bible (usually the book name is the prophet’s name).

In trying to keep all of these people and messages clear in my mind, I have put together a list of all the kings and prophets during the period of the. The Story of Prophets and Kings is the second in a series of five outstanding volumes spanning sacred history.

It was, however, the last book of the series to be written, and the last of many rich works to come from the gifted pen of Ellen G. White. Audiobook: Prophets & Kings Beginning with King Solomon, this book recounts the stories of great men and women of the Bible who lived from his reign to the first advent of Jesus Christ.

Here you will read of Elijah, Daniel, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, among others--and you will find the lessons God would have us all learn from their lives. Some prophets overlap, lived in different areas, or the chronology cannot be estimated with any accuracy.

The list is roughly chronological. Just because someone was mentioned in scripture, it does not mean they were a prophet, per se. Mormons have distinctive beliefs on what a prophet is. Isaiah the Prophet (BCBC) wrote the book Isaiah and his name appears in a number of other books.

Isaiah prophesied in Judah during the reigns of Kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah. He was murdered by King Hezekiah's son King Manasseh.
